My children are so the cutest things I've ever made!

Ok, so Madigan is cute and can eat, lick and nibble her own chubby little toes. Cute right? Maeve looks great in a pink hoodie. Also so cute right? But out of these, the best shot by far is the dance instructor (Kim) pulling Maeve up off the ground.(Last pic) Yes you see all the other little ballerinas in various poses. All of them doing what the teacher says. Then there is my child. When she wasn't on the floor, she was at the barre, when she wasn't at the barre she was doing the opposite of what everyone else was doing! I know I shouldn't laugh and think it is all so terribly cute but I do! I know that one day Maeve will be a strong independent woman and these are her first steps to achieve that goal! So yes, I do think its funny and hope that you do too!

Madigan and Daddy got their giggle on last night and it was very funny to watch. Michael would put Madigans toes in her mouth and then let go. Gravity being what it is would pull said toe from said mouth and it would make Madigan laugh. Of course, as I went for the camera and returned to document the bubbling laughter... there was none to be found. Apparently the novelty of gravity wears off quickly!

Exersaucer

Big thanks to Hilary and Roan who have very kindly lent us this exersaucer. How cool. The Scotts lent us one while we were in the good ole US so fortunately we have never had to buy one! They are OUTRAGEOUS in price! This one has more doodads and gizmos on it but that is good because Madigan doesn't even touch them yet, but, Maeve sure does! I just got Madigan down for a nap and I've locked Maeve in her room for 1 hour. She can nap if she likes or play but I'm giving myself the gift of peace and quiet for an hour. Hopefully she'll bore herself to sleep! Last time I checked on her she was all snuggled up on her Dora couch aka the naughty couch. So far we have all had to sit on the naughty couch for some reason or another. Maeve sits on it more often than anyone though. Maeve was astounded when I made Michael sit on the naughty couch for being naughty. So was Michael but I think it taught Maeve a really important lesson. Even when you are big you can't be naughty. When Michael catches me being naughty I'll do my turn on the couch to of course! Maeve laughs about who gets to be on that naughty couch and she says Madigan will sit on it too! Now I hope I haven't taught her too much about it! I'm sure I'm going to go into her room and see her forcing Madigan to sit on it one day! Today is a great day. Rainy and poopy! We went to jericho beach and found a puddle stomper's dream! Maeve had so much fun and Madigan slept in the stroller. After about 30mins in the puddles Maeve got cold so I put her in the stroller, warmed her up a bit and gave her some snack on the way up to the park. Once we were at the park Maeve tried out a new climber, crossed the grumpy old troll bridge and refused to come back down via the ladder. Fortunately I speak fluent toddler and I talked her down without incident. The swing however, was with incident! Big pink jacket, warm old navy fleece lined jeans, purple fleece lined muddy buddies + pink pooh bear boots = the ability to go IN but not OUT of the toddler swing on the playground. If anyone had walked past us while I was trying to remove her, they would have thought I was murdering her! It was great, Madigan screaming blue murder in the stroller and Maeve screaming as though I was blue murdering her! How nice! Fortunately again I was clever and removed the offending boots and muddy buddies so Maeve could make her escape! Phew what a day!

For a while there I could upload the pics but I couldn't blog about them. How bizarre. Anyhoo, today was great didn't get out of my jammies! I managed to bake a couple loaves of bread and a bananna bread, I kept the girls from smothering each other (ok, just the one not the other) and I made a fantastic dinner if I say so myself! Tomorrow is the dreaded ballet tuesday or "black tuesday" as it was known as last week. Hopefully by planning ahead I wont run into the same problems I had last week! Now here is our gorgeous Madigan shirt on head! She is good, getting big and talking up a storm. I can only imagine the conversations that these two girls are going to have as they get older.

Jolly jumpin' messy dinner makin'

Three months old and Madigan is burning to boogie. Sweet lord are we in trouble! Madigan just isn't happy unless she is facing forward and in an upright position! Today was a NASTY day for me! Poor Madigan has a cough and poor Maeve is driving me bananas! No cleaning was done today, no laundry was folded, no carpets were vacuumed. Today we barely made it to ballet, ate Mcdonalds for lunch and 75% of the Mussellam family was either crying, screaming or wishing they were somewhere else (me)! The other 25% of the Mussellam family escaped to go to this wonderful child free place called "work". I bundled up the girls and went on another wonderful wet walk. 4:oo came around Maeve was out cold in the stroller (note not out *in* the cold) and Madigan was up but needing to be held. I thought I might get some peace and quiet but Madigan wouldnt have any of it! I did manage to put her in the jolly jumper for a bit while I made a quick dinner. This brings me to the first picture. Look closely at Dora's eyes. Notice anything out of the ordinary? Maeve worked so hard to get those little peas to stick on the white part of Dora's eyes. Isn't she clever! Around 8ish I finally managed to get our littlest one off to sleep. Then I had time to play with Maeve! We read some books, I ate her eyes, she ate my hair and we both watched a bit of American Idol. My child sure has a sense of humour and I sure love her! Just before Daddy came home Maeve had to change into her beautiful ballerina outfit. What a kid she is! So Daddy got home and played with Maeve too. They are a funny duo let me tell you! Around 9ish I got a phone call from my friend Lisa. She said, I just left something at your doorstep. I went out to look and Lisa had dropped off a goodie bag packed with treats just for me. You see, I phoned her and left a message saying how crappy my day was. She drove all the way to our house to leave me a gift bag and some potted daffodils. Isn't she sweet? Yes I do love Lisa Doucette! So my crappy day was tempered by the sound of my infant coughing less since she is sleeping in her carseat, playing with and watching Maeve play with her Daddy and by knowing that I have really good friends who care about me. Maybe my day wasn't so crappy after all!

disturbing but true

Well, as you can see, some things around here change but the pink stays true! Yes. Not only does Madigan fit Maeve's old pj's but, Madigan has grown into clothing Maeve has *just* stopped wearing! Good lord! Poor Maeve is going to be getting hand me ups from her giant sister! Must run as the giant is bellowing!!

Look closely into her sunglasses, you can see who truly loves her! Daddy, Mommy and Auntie Erin!! This weekend was lots of fresh sea air for our poor Madigan who is suffering from a yucky cold. Poor honey!!

Tango anyone

So here are the girls and their new double stroller. It is the Zooper Tango! Bought it, took it for a spin. The girls seem to dig it! Its pretty wide, but then what can one expect! Not too heavy, nice storage bags and it came with a waterproof boot, sunshade and vancouver special rain cover! We walked for about 45 mins in the rain today. Oh what fun!!

Ballet Day!!!

This is the 3rd time I've tried to put these up so there is no clever and/or witty remarks! For some reason the pictures are going out of the green borders. Sorry all. Maeve did fantastic at ballet. She listened to the teacher and did exactly what the teacher did. Literally! Fun was had, pink was worn by all and all the baby sisters wore pink tutus too! The class before this one is Mommy & Me ballet. I didn't join because no one needs to see this Mommy in a tutu!!

Ballet Eve

Here we are all anxious. We've hung ballet slippers by the fireplace and everything. Visions of sugar plum fairies dancing in our heads! Well ok really I'm just waiting with baited breath to find out if we wasted 40$ on a class that she'll refuse to go to! We know a couple of friends whose parents thought they might like a class, and even the child herself has said she'd like to go, only to turn all bambi on the day of the class. Hopefully that doesn't happen for us. Hopefully Maeve will enjoy ballet at school as much as she likes it at home! We didn't do too much today. Baked bread, went outside and played "swiper", soccer and did sun salutations. There was no sun to be saluted but we tried to guess where best to salute based on how light the black clouds above were!I tried to get them to nap they didn't. We made it to the butcher and then to pick up Michael. Oh how my life has changed!! I just took the pics now, Maeve is wearing her I heart Daddy shirt while placing her cute feet in his stinky shoes. Madigan is discovering hands and batting at things and generally being all cute pink and clever. I am going to try to get to bed early! I'll hopefully let you know tomorrow!

And our big girl

Here is our big girl. We discovered, quite by accident, that my little ponies have magnets in their feet! Maeve's ponies can draw on the magnadoodle and defy gravity on our fridge. Oh how much fun!!!

CONGRATULATIONS SARA AND BRAD

Well, they did it! Mostly Sara did anyway (Sorry Brad). Sara and Brad welcomed Jacob Barry George Wingfield into their family January 7th at 2:02am weighing 7lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long. We haven't seen any pictures yet but Sara assures us that he is gorgeous and looks just like Brad! I am waiting to see if little Jacob inherited the "Mussellam" cheeks! I got to talk to Sara this morning and she sounds great! We really can't wait to meet this little guy! This weekend we didn't do too much but we did manage to get Maeve her ballet shoes. Talk about sappy weepy idiot (Me) tearing up in the store because the second the lady put them on Maeve's feet she walks over to the barre on tippy toes! I'll get lots of ballet pics if she likes it on tuesday! I wont take any if she doesn't!!! ok maybe one or two to haunt her!! Well I have to go as Madigan is roaring! lots of love and YAY for Mommy Sara and Daddy Brad! Not to mention Max and Zilla who now have a brother!

Waiting for our new cousin

Ok, so here we all sit waiting for our Sara to have her baby! We got word yesterday from Uncle Brad that Sara had gone to her Dr. appointment and was then sent to the hospital. Apparently she had a small leak of amniotic fluid. Yes yes tmi for much of you but there are some out there that want to know! We haven't heard anything from Uncle Brad just indirectly from his mom through emails to Auntie Erin. The most current info I have is that Sara is 3cms dilated 100% effaced and on pitocin to get her to dilate further. We can't wait to meet the newest Wingfield and we'll see how dominant these "Mussellam" cheeks really are! I personally can't wait to hear if it is a boy or a girl! I can't wait and I wish Sara a safe calm and speedy delivery! We are thinking of you Sara and we are so proud of you! We love you soooo much!

ARen't they cute! No silly, not Maeve and Madigan, me and my recently affianced buddy Shannon. Yay for the Oldales, Kenny will soon take a wife! Not just any wife either, one that loves him like none other! Congrats you two! Ok, so briefly these are pics from New Years. The girls had a little sisterly snuggle before going to bed at 10:30! The cake and candle are for Auntie Erin who was drinking black cosmos all night! Lots of pics of me you lucky bastards! Now out of all these pictures the only one that frightens me is the one of Madigan looking up to Maeve adoringly. Now you KNOW that Maeve is going to make Madigan do stuff she isn't supposed to and Madigan is going to do it because she looks up to her big sister! Boy are we in trouble!!!!
