Easter Week!

We are at Gramma Luvvies' Island and we are having a BLAST! The girls have watched eggs hatching with Auntie Caca, done battle with Perkimer and have refined their turkey communication! Madigan is particularily good at talking with turkeys!
I am totally enjoying being here! My Mom and Robin very kindly mind the girls so I can pull a few extra zzzzz's in the am! Robin brings me home some work from the office and I do my best to help out! Not cooking dinner EVERY night is awesome! It sucks now that I should do the cleanup tho! Something I don't do at our house! Michael does the kitchen EVERY single night. I don't think I thank him enough for that but I sure do appreciate it!

Here are some pics of our Easter Weekend. We have all been having a blast! The girls are so funny! Everyone is growing up so fast!!!!

oops!

Hello everyone!

First off, everyone is OK!  We just took our very first trip to the ER.

Maeve and Daddy were horsing around and she cracked her brain holder.  She screamed VERY loud and I came running.  Daddy was holding her and there was a fair bit of blood.  I looked and we made the decision to take take her in.  I figured she needed at least one stitch.

We got to the ER before 5 and followed all the steps to get registered.  I tried to keep the girls away from the most contagious looking kids.  It was SO busy in there.. the triage nurse said today was nothing compared to yesterday!  Lucky us.  We were only stuck there until  7:30
The medical team gave Maeve some topical anesthetic (sp) and we had to wait for that to take.. about a half hour.  Then we had to wait to get a room again.. sweet mother of mary it felt like it took forever.  We talked about stitches, glue or staples.  Stapling my child's head made me feel a bit woozy, I was worried that stitches might fall out or she might touch them too much so we went with glue.

Maeve did wind up getting her first haircut!  See photos!
All is well, it is 8:30 now, we've just had dinner and banana cream pie for dessert.  Found out today that my children are so brave and strong, my husband is so brave and strong and so am I!  Also found out that none of us like banana cream pie!
Oh and my surprise is, I got the job at Save On Foods... more more more.. how do you like it how do you like it.. more more more!  Sort of anticlimactic but its night time work and I don't have to bring the girls!  They'll have me to stay home and play with them all day every day instead of two days a week!  I'm thrilled!

Yesterday we went to the dentist!

maybe Maeve really is my child!  Look at those adult choppers lurking behind her baby teeth!  Someone is going to be in for a world hurt in a few months!  I have more pictures to upload but we are going to take advantage of the sunshine and GET outside!!

Ronan, Lisa and Liam came with us to the dentist and I have to send them their pictures before asking to post them here!  Hopefully I'll get some more later tonight!

I love my girls and their big huge chicklets!  Jason and I were teased mercilessly (sp) when we were kids because our front teeth were so big!  Jason has fantastic teeth and mine were nice before I knocked them out!! haha Maeve is a finnerty afterall!!

In all seriousness...

Hello there, it's Michael.

Vashti doesn't preach on this blog, but hell, it's my blog too. Sometimes we all need to stop and have a look around at what we're doing to the planet. Oh stop rolling your eyes, all I'm asking is you watch this and have a think. Nothing else.

If you need something to think about, think of our children.

http://www.storyofstuff.com/

That ends my contribution to the blog. See you in a few months. Hugs.

Tuesday!

Hello doods! We had an amazing weekend. After working my tail off the last week and a bit I was rewarded with 5.. yes 5 days off in a row! How exciting! I don't even recall exactly what we did but some of it was nothing. Yes friday the best I managed was to get everyone in the bath! Saturday Melanie Troyer (Fellers) and I went to the Pink Lime Salon... heaven, I was in heaven! We had a massagee and a pedicure! I had my piggies done in "didgiri-doo your nails pink? Mel opted for Socrates to me.. or something like that. Before we hit the spa we had a delicious brunch at Milestones and squeezed in a little window shopping. When I cam home... Michael MADE dinner. Yes that is correct, for the second time in our 15 year union, Michael MADE dinner! This time however, it was delicious! I almost forgot and how could I. My wonderful friend Lisa took me out for drinks and snackies at the 5 Point on Saturday night. It was really really nice. Afterwards we walked and talked it was coooooold but so crisp and beautiful. I had a great time. It really is nice to have some adult friend time!
Sunday we wandered around Mt Pleasant aimlessly before happening upon Mill's Paints. In we go... chat about painting.. spur of the moment decide to paint and voila.. tune in next week to see how we turned this

Into something amazing! Ok, we all know by "this" I meant the black wall in the girls bedroom right.. the "this" in no way refers to some amazing makeover the putty knife holder gets!

After our paint selection we made our way to cafe Rustico. This place is literally across the street from us. The extremely hyper Italian guy that runs the place is constantly pouring espresso down my throat! After the nasty case of the shakes I got last time I no longer take him up on his espresso treats! Here is Maeve seen thru a coffee cup. Very avante garde, photo courtesy of Michael Mussellam. Artist.

Today we had some visitors at Casa Mussellam. Lisa stopped by with her 7 week old baby girl Miete.

We had a very nice visit. She isn't too far away so it'll be great now that she knows where we live, we'll make her walk up the hill to visit us! Stroller bootcamp as it were! Miete is a lovely baby. She is all ginger and smiles for her mother. Like the rest of the human race, my voice distresses her and makes her cry! ha ha oh well, when listening to me everyone is crying at least on the inside!

Melanie and Carter dropped by for a short visit! Maeve and Madigan LOVE Carter!

He is such a happy adorable little baby! He looks like Mel alot.. and also Monkey! Mel rolled up with her hair all did and looked totally gorgey! When Mel and Carter arrived, Maeve collected all the pillows from the couch and made a safe area around Carter incase there were any crash landings. Watch the video, you are sure to see one! No babies were hurt in the making of this video! Mel might hurt me after watching if she is anything like me and hates seeing herself on camera! I think she looks great in this video. Shut up, you do too!

Thursday!

This week has been so much more than Craptastic. Cathy/Felix, please tell me there is good news lying ahead. I don't know what I did to get all this bad karma. I think it has something to do with laughing at that jerk who was in such a rush to cross the street standing almost on top of a puddle and then getting sPUH-LASHED.. anyway I digress. One of the worst weeks ever. I have worked 12 of the last 16 days and I'm frazzled, cranky not to mention the ever favorite bitchy! Yay me! Thankfully it is now officially my weekend as I have tomorrow and saturday off. I'm working on getting Sunday off too! I saw this video on u-toob an thought it was funny.. please enjoy!

Ps I am accepting tips into my karma cup... and not how to tips either! I know laughing at someone getting splashed isn't a very grown up thing but it was pretty funny!

haha oops there I go again!

Sunday

Hello friends and family!

Life is whizzing past as usual. Friday after work, we went to the Doucette casa for tea! Lisa, wonderful hostess that she i, had all manner of snacks out. Liam was sleeping, Ronan was entertaining and Maeve was miserable. She just was not herself at all. We had a few meltdowns. One of which was my attempt at leaving Peter Pan at the Doucette's place so they could borrow it. Maeve who is normally just great about lending things, had a really tough time. Lisa, gracious soul that she is helped her boys over not getting a chance to watch ours. The terrible thing was, once we hit the car and I pulled away from the curb, Maeve had fallen asleep. Looks like I brought a feverish child to Lisa's house.. what an ass I am! Michael and the girls were in bed asleep at 7pm! I stayed up and watched Flight of the Conchords. I highly recommend it!

Saturday we were incredibly late for Milo's 5th birthday party at the Aquatic Center. Luckily for all concerned we missed out on the swimming portion of the party! We made it in time for pizza, snacks and quite possibly the most amazing cake co created by a 5 year old ever! After the party we donned our swim gear and had a splash! Madigan more so than anyone, she slipped and went fully under for more than a second! Woot woot on the awesome parenting!! She is and was ok, sputtered a bit but didn't cry!

Sunday we loaded up the truck and went out to visit good ole Granny Gracie! We went to a Buddist Temple in Richmond. It was gorgeous! Everyone was burning incense and offering prayers and goodies to all these statues. We are going to go back when it is a bit warmer, maybe read up a bit on Buddism before we go. Maeve was asking so many questions that we are going to make a special library trip to find out more. I'm not well versed in Buddism and I don't want to give her the wrong info. After visiting them temple, we had lunch at banners! The food was ok, the wait staff was crap but the company was great!

Back at Granny Gracie's the girls and Granny worked together on a spiderman puzzle. I dare say that Maeve is better than GG! GG just puts the pieces in and hopes its a fit! Then shouts, "this one doesn't fit get the scissors, we'll make it fit!" Great! We had pie and ice-cream, naps and I went across the street to do some grocery shopping! Home for dinner and the girls have been in bed since 7:30! Michael is on his way to hockey and I have the evening to myself! You'd think I'd take advantage and go to bed early too! Silly you.... er silly me!

Mmmmm Noodles! Here are the two noodle monsters eating a delicious lunch Daddy cooked up while Mommy was at work!

Today i got my hair cut. I think the only way to beat Danica in this hair race is to trim off all the dead ends. Seeing as I haven't had my hair cut in over two years, I can safely say it was time! Michael mocked me for my 'lack of haircut'. He says its the same length as it was before I went in. There was ALOT of hair on the floor! He isn't a fan of the cut and says Danica is going to win. Wow, that is some endorsement! I on the other hand love my cut and am totally rocking my new look!

This blog posting is up just so that Lisa doesn't have to keep looking at the previous one! I think she looks great and so do lots of other peeps but.. I'll do it because I lobe her!

2008 already?

haha sorry for my late bloggedness. These days I'm super busy. Life is fuhlying past at an amazing speed! The girls are great, Michael is coming under a huge deadline at work again.. boo... Looks like life isn't going to slow down until at least April! Yikes!

Tomorrow it is my wonderful friend Lisa Doucette's birthday! I'm so happy she and her family moved back to Vancouver from New Zealand. I honestly do not know what I would do without them. Soooo, big Happy Birthday shout out to Lee Woo Doo! Who loves ya baby?

Lets recap, We rang in the New Year with our good friends Uncle Kenny and Auntie Shannon (their baby due April/May '08) Lots of good times and overpoured Malibu! Shannon, baby and I totally kicked Michael and Kenny's butts at cranium! Woot! Girl power!

My brother married the most beautiful girl in the world.

After my crippling defeat, this year my new years resolution is to win the hair war Danica and I have been fighting. 2007 was her year, its gonna be mine in 2008. Bring it. Set your sights high I always say. Danica, its on!

I am still trying to get my butt to Maeve's school to register her for September! My baby going to kindergarten in September! Sweet jebus what am I going to do! Maybe that should be my first resolution!

Hello ya'll:

Happy Holidays!

In Vashti's family they have a tradition that they can open one gift the night before christmas (it was always a pair of PJs). So we're continuing this with the girls (sorry, I'm too tired to remove the red-eyes):
