Hello friends and family!


Life is whizzing past as usual. Friday after work, we went to the Doucette casa for tea! Lisa, wonderful hostess that she i, had all manner of snacks out. Liam was sleeping, Ronan was entertaining and Maeve was miserable. She just was not herself at all. We had a few meltdowns. One of which was my attempt at leaving Peter Pan at the Doucette's place so they could borrow it. Maeve who is normally just great about lending things, had a really tough time. Lisa, gracious soul that she is helped her boys over not getting a chance to watch ours. The terrible thing was, once we hit the car and I pulled away from the curb, Maeve had fallen asleep. Looks like I brought a feverish child to Lisa's house.. what an ass I am! Michael and the girls were in bed asleep at 7pm! I stayed up and watched Flight of the Conchords. I highly recommend it!

Saturday we were incredibly late for Milo's 5th birthday party at the Aquatic Center. Luckily for all concerned we missed out on the swimming portion of the party! We made it in time for pizza, snacks and quite possibly the most amazing cake co created by a 5 year old ever! After the party we donned our swim gear and had a splash! Madigan more so than anyone, she slipped and went fully under for more than a second! Woot woot on the awesome parenting!! She is and was ok, sputtered a bit but didn't cry!




Sunday we loaded up the truck and went out to visit good ole Granny Gracie! We went to a Buddist Temple in Richmond. It was gorgeous! Everyone was burning incense and offering prayers and goodies to all these statues. We are going to go back when it is a bit warmer, maybe read up a bit on Buddism before we go. Maeve was asking so many questions that we are going to make a special library trip to find out more. I'm not well versed in Buddism and I don't want to give her the wrong info. After visiting them temple, we had lunch at banners! The food was ok, the wait staff was crap but the company was great!


Back at Granny Gracie's the girls and Granny worked together on a spiderman puzzle. I dare say that Maeve is better than GG! GG just puts the pieces in and hopes its a fit! Then shouts, "this one doesn't fit get the scissors, we'll make it fit!" Great! We had pie and ice-cream, naps and I went across the street to do some grocery shopping! Home for dinner and the girls have been in bed since 7:30! Michael is on his way to hockey and I have the evening to myself! You'd think I'd take advantage and go to bed early too! Silly you.... er silly me!

Mmmmm Noodles! Here are the two noodle monsters eating a delicious lunch Daddy cooked up while Mommy was at work!

Today i got my hair cut. I think the only way to beat Danica in this hair race is to trim off all the dead ends. Seeing as I haven't had my hair cut in over two years, I can safely say it was time! Michael mocked me for my 'lack of haircut'. He says its the same length as it was before I went in. There was ALOT of hair on the floor! He isn't a fan of the cut and says Danica is going to win. Wow, that is some endorsement! I on the other hand love my cut and am totally rocking my new look!



This blog posting is up just so that Lisa doesn't have to keep looking at the previous one! I think she looks great and so do lots of other peeps but.. I'll do it because I lobe her!

2008 already?

haha sorry for my late bloggedness. These days I'm super busy. Life is fuhlying past at an amazing speed! The girls are great, Michael is coming under a huge deadline at work again.. boo... Looks like life isn't going to slow down until at least April! Yikes!

Tomorrow it is my wonderful friend Lisa Doucette's birthday! I'm so happy she and her family moved back to Vancouver from New Zealand. I honestly do not know what I would do without them. Soooo, big Happy Birthday shout out to Lee Woo Doo! Who loves ya baby?





Lets recap, We rang in the New Year with our good friends Uncle Kenny and Auntie Shannon (their baby due April/May '08) Lots of good times and overpoured Malibu! Shannon, baby and I totally kicked Michael and Kenny's butts at cranium! Woot! Girl power!

My brother married the most beautiful girl in the world.





After my crippling defeat, this year my new years resolution is to win the hair war Danica and I have been fighting. 2007 was her year, its gonna be mine in 2008. Bring it. Set your sights high I always say. Danica, its on!

I am still trying to get my butt to Maeve's school to register her for September! My baby going to kindergarten in September! Sweet jebus what am I going to do! Maybe that should be my first resolution!

I figured I better blog one last time this year!

Christmas dinner was great! Thanks Auntie Lisa for the turkey bucks! We got a free organic turkey it was huge and there are still lots of leftovers! *groan* I/we are sick of turkey!!!

Happy Holidays!

In Vashti's family they have a tradition that they can open one gift the night before christmas (it was always a pair of PJs). So we're continuing this with the girls (sorry, I'm too tired to remove the red-eyes):

Oooooh Christmas is coming! I cannot believe Christmas Eve is a mere week away!


Yesterday Sara and Jakers came over for a visit. They stayed the night and today we made our way over to Richmond to go visit Great Granny Gracie!




We took her to Mc Donalds! hahahaha you'd think we'd be able to treat her at a better restaurant but hey, who else has a playplace! We had a nice little lunch then let the beasts loose on the outdoor play structure! Turns out that this particular McDonalds was the one Michael, Erin and Sara went to when they were little!

After lunch we hit Tim Horntons and had a nice visit at Great Granny Gracies. She taught Maeve how to play dominoes!





Jakers and Madigan ran laps around and around her place and Sara and I fought over the donuts! I won because she ate them! Hhahahaha hope she gets fat even tho I know she wont!!

ps don't judge me for the less than warm looking attire on the children. As far as I'm aware they haven't frozen to death yet and when they are cold, they'll come and get any one of the number of jackets I have on hand!

Decorating the Yule Tree

hellooooo my fine feathered friends! Hope life is treating you well! We are in fast forward it seems! Life is going way too quickly!

This weekend has been busier than the rest. Monday we got a scary call. One of our friends was in the ER and we ran and picked up his big brother to spend the day with us so Mom and Dad could be at the hospital. I'm very happy to say that everything is now fine and everyone is back at home doing well!


Maeve and Madigan are doing well. Cheeky as ever and I wouldn't have it any other way! Maeve is under the impression she is the boss of us. She is constantly correcting me while I discipline Madigan!


Madigan on the other hand, is such a little trouble maker! I imagine this is what Michael was like when he was little. Always with the teasing, bothering but is so incredibly loving. Madigan is so quick to share her treats with Maeve, so fast to give a hug or a kiss and always says sorry when she hurts Maeve. Sadly the #1 reason Madigan hurts Maeve is by kneeling or laying on her hair! Maeve's hair, although gorgeous.. is becoming a little more of a hassle! She officially does NOT want me to take her to have her hair cut. She is concerned that cutting her hair will hurt her! I tell her its like cutting her nails but she isn't having any of it!


Michael has been working late the last few nights and I'm not going to lie, life has been pretty challenging for me. I know he doesn't want to be working late anymore than I do. Poor Michael misses the girls and they sure miss him! I know my job isn't neurosurgery but I have to tell you I'm feeling pretty beat these days! I'm looking forward to the holiday, to Brodie and Lindsay's wedding and spending some time with my family on the island for xmas.

For the Mussellam Chambers side of things we are meeting up with everyone at Michael's Auntie Lisa's place on Dec 23. Kersten, Michael's cousin is back from Ghana and we haven't seen her or Ryan for 2 years! My god where has the time gone! Great Granny Grace is going to come and spend xmas eve/morning with us, Grampa George will be coming over Christmas day and on boxing day we hope to have a few people stopping by! Busy busy busy!

Hello everyone! Happy Snow Day!

Saturday I walked to work and it was sooo quiet! We had a couple of centimeters of snow on the ground and it was coming down pretty good. I worked until 2 and it had snowed, then stopped, then snowed again! while I was walking home the snow was hitting me pretty hard! I was so excited! I had a meeting with a possible babysitter so I had to hurry home and not dawdle and play in the snow!

I got home and Madigan was sleeping so Maeve and I geared up and made the snowy trek to meet our babysitter to be! Andrea is great, she is originally from Malaysia but has lived the bulk of her life in Ireland! She has lived in Vancouver for 1 1/2 years and has zero accent! Weird huh? Maeve really liked her and I really liked the way she talked to Maeve! She gets top marks from me! Michael and I are going to go on a date and not have to call my Mom over from the Island to watch the girls for a change!

While I was at work, Michael took the girls to the park up the street! looks like they had a blast!




Sunday was more snow! I figured the snow would have stopped overnight but nopers! We had tonnes of the white stuff! We had a late start today! Michael and I lazily woke up at 9:44! Oh the joy! The girls had gotten up earlier and watched some treehouse! Huzzah! Lisa came over around 1:30 ish and took me shopping at oakridge mall. I got the girls some cute long john type shirts, tights, soap and some popcorn.. oh the joy! So now Michael is making dinner and I'm signing off!

Ho Ho Ho Pic heavy posting!

Hello everyone! We just got back from the very fabulous Santa Claus Parade! What a blast! We met up with the Kwan D'Eons and the Snagg Duncans!


Auntie Sara and Jakers arrived this morning and we hung out for a bit while Sara did some research before buying her new camera! Maeve, Madigan and Jake seemed to have a blast playing around the house and then we were off to hit the downtown core before the rest of the 299 994 people did!


The weather was GORGEOUS! Sooo sooo sooo cold but gorgeous! In some of the pics you might notice that Maeve's jacket is inside out. The reason her jacket is inside out is because, that is the only way my stubborn child will wear it. Apparently it was fine all last year but this year the jacket is offensive because it is only pink on the inside. Maeve's clothes have to be pink on the OUTSIDE! Voila, jacket flipped inside out and we have a warm content little girl! Man is she stubborn tho!




We got to the parade route and the Kwan D'Eons very kindly saved us a spot! We squeeze in and hunkered down to wait! The girls did really well waiting it out, they did even better when they had snacks! I'd take a picture of my marvellous mini bread sandwiches but the little piggies ate them all. Poor Milo and Theo didn't get to sample my fabulous treats! The parade was really great. I had a blast! I think the girls enjoyed it too! Since we were at the end of the parade route the paraders seemed to be a little pooped. Who could blame them tho they had been parading since before 1pm and long after 2:30!

Saturday we met up with Team Doucette at Douglas Park. We walked over around 1:30 met up with Lisa and the boys. Liam and Madigan were asleep and Ronan and Maeve tore the playground up! A little later Mr Doucette arrived and chased Maeve and Ronan around the playground! Maeve LOVED it! It was beautiful but cold too! We hung out til 4ish and then headed back home. On our way home we hit capers hard! We bought a tonne of expensive snacks!! hahah 7$ for some garlic mashed potatoes! haha we are idiots! The snacks we got were delish tho!!


*note yesterday was the day Maeve's jacket issue was finally resolved! Look how cute Madigan looks in her hat/mitts set that Auntie Erin got for Maeve 2 yrs ago!

hi diddily ho diddily! How is everyone? We are good. I'd venture we are even GREAT! I love our new home! Last week I organized the girls room... finally!!! All their toys are in the right basket in the right spot. I'd take a picture to show you but of course now it is a disaster! Maeve has a dress up closet with all her dress up clothes, shoes and accessories! We broke out the old skool fisher price sets and they have been getting alot of use! We've had Ronan and Liam, Mel and Carter and my Mom over for visits! I'm not doing to bad for someone who doesn't like house guests!!! Having my Mom over was GREAT! the girls caught this amazing super cold that has been keeping us all up at night. By Monday night I too caught the cold that never ends. My Mom came over on Wednesday night and kept the girls home thursday and friday so I didn't have to take them to work. It was so helpful. I don't have any pics to show you what they got up to but I'll leave you with three words.... cookies and cinnamon buns! Thanks Mom. I sure do love and appreciate your help!

This weekend we hit home depot AGAIN. What is it about home ownership that dictates all weekends shall be spent at home depot? We were there last weekend too. Replacing all the light bulbs in our place for the low energy ones! We had to put some caulk on the bathtub too so that was great! Last weekend we spent ages looking at all the paint colours. Maeve and Madigan have selected pink and purple for their play room. shock of shocks! I'm a little worried about painting because Kevin and Kate Scott have scared me with their paint horror stories! Kate wound up repainting their living room at least 3 times! I'm too lazy!
