All the mighty Mussellams

So today we hit Great Grampa Eddie and Maxine's for a wonderful feast! GG Eddie cooked up a fantastic lamb while Maxine made everything a girl could possibly want to eat! We had chicken wings, pita and hummus, cheese, pickles... man the lady had everything! Everyone got to meet baby Jacob and everyone was in love with him. No one loves him more than Papa tho! Maeve brought along all her ponies and played while she wasn't swiping pickles and it was a really nice visit! Tonight we are having dinner with Papa, Uncle Gary Great Granny Grace and all of us! We are going for chinese and I hope the restaurant knows what is coming! 9 mussellams in full force!!

Today is big visit day!

Ok, so its been a long time since I've updated. Well don't worry because today's update is special! Baby Jacob and Auntie Sara have made it here all the way from New York!! Baby Jakie is great and Maeve loves him! Madigan is snoozing so she is missing out on the love fest but I'm sure they'll be thick as thieves once she wakes! Also included for your viewing pleasure, a snapshot of Madigan's first ever kick at the sandbox! We went to Granville Island with Angela, Theo and Milo! Madigan seemed to enjoy the texture of the sand but seemed to really prefer all the dead pine needles poking out of the sand!! Happy tuesday to you all!

Well aren't I on the ball today. Ok so not really otherwise this piece d'Art would never have happened. Seems our junior picasso enjoys paint as her weapon of choice these days. Yes, another beautiful mural brought to you by our very own Maeve Adera. Fortunately this one wasn't on my watch and Daddy scooped the pic! Some time was spent on the naughty couch and the offending bristles have been temporarily removed! You have to admit tho, it really is a gorgeous piece of work! Damn her for being brilliant and bratty at the same time! I know that years from now we'll look back on this and laugh and laugh. Our budding artist's first masterpiece! Ok second but who is counting!!

Oh how I love crackers! Besides boobie milk I'm pretty sure this is the only thing our fair Madigan would eat if she had a choice! Madigan is doing well, getting big by the day it seems! She prefers to feed herself and 95% of the cracker winds up on the floor! Independence is a common trait in my children. Madigan sleeps in her crib in Maeve's room now. I still can't believe it! She is just such a good sleeper! She went down to sleep last night at 9 and woke for one feeding at 1:30 then was up again at 6:40. It is so much better than her being up every hour! We had to re configure our kitchen seating plan because we are getting rid of the big highchair and Madigan now dines with us!

Happy St Paddy's Day!

Ok, so now you can totally see why the easter bunny should bring Madigan some bibs! Good lord can that child drool! Gramma Suzy made Maeve's gorgeous dress. If you look closely you can see faeries hiding in the flowers. This dress fits her so much better now that she has grown a bit! Right now Maeve is getting her top 2year molars! Poor thing. She keeps thinking she has something stuck in her teeth but really its her new ones coming in! Hello tylenol! Madigan is so drooly because she has mastered the art of the raspberry! She is in her saucer now, shrieking and blowing serious raspberries! I am in love with my children so much I overlook the fact that they both drool! For different reasons of course, Maeve drools when she sleeps but she comes by that honestly! Madigan drools alot, I was trying to blame hers on teething but I see no evidence of teeth yet! I think they must come up and then go back down. Anyway, hope everyone had a great St Paddy day and drink some green beer for me!

Two of a kind

Well, to prove that Maeve is actually alive and thriving I guess I can throw some pictures your way! Today Maeve woke up in a great mood! What a change! I'm not sure exactly what is going on with her, I can only chalk it up to being 2! Or maybe its 12! Who knows! Both girls are doing really well. Maeve loves the stuffing out of Madigan and Madigan worships Maeve. You should see her gorgeous eyes light up when Maeve gives her the tiniest bit of attention! I think Michael and I are in for one heck of a ride!

Thank god for Maeve's nap otherwise Madigan wouldn't achieve her developmental milestones early or even at all! Here she is in all her glory!

pantsless baby sister

hi! usually it is maeve who is pantless, well today Madigan is pinch hitting for Maeve! Today was great, we played in the rain/sunshine at Douglas park and then went on to have lunch with Maeve's good buddy Ronan, Madigan's good buddy Liam and my good buddy Lisa! Lunch was hectic but we did manage to eat (for those of you who feared I was wasting away!!!!). Both girls napped in the car (Madigan 20mins) Maeve managed to nap with a transfer to bed! Madigan, not so lucky! So these are the pics I snapped of our youngest heart breaker! She sits up really well and loves her fingers! Must be teething! She also likes to eat Maeve's Dr kit! I only break a bit of a sweat when she eats the scalpel! Well I have to run as it is day 2 of single parenting! It sucks! For all of you single Mommies out there I salute you!

Weekend Fun

Teeter tottering, sand sitting and tree hiding fun was what this gorgeous weekend was all about! Don't mind the fingers behind the tree in the last shot. It isn't someone offering Maeve candy, it is Auntie Erin! Uncle Jaycie and Auntie Barbie came over on thursday night/friday. Saturday was pretty low key, we went to the beach as previously posted. Yesterday we had lunch at one of Michael's and my old haunts. The Vineyard on 4th! Well, the girls were great, the service was good and the food was ok. Michael paid the bill and then came back to the table to collect us. He put some money down on the table for tip and for whatever reason, I'm still not certain, I picked up the money and put it in his wallet. Hours later I realized what I had done. Of course I was mortified so I told Michael we had to go back today and give the waitress back her tip. So, we met Auntie at the park then continued on to the vineyard for another "ok" lunch. How embarassing! Thank goodness for children tho, we had Maeve give it back to her after I explained what had happened! Sheesh, sometimes I feel like I'm losing my mind!

Soother Sisters

Ok, generally speaking we don't allow Maeve to have her soother in public. Today she "found" this soother and tried to have some serious sister soothing with Madigan. The sad news is we are going to have to go cold turkey with these things. The last thing I want is a 5 year old with a soother addiction! Fortunately we have managed to wean her from the boob, kick the bottle at night habit, kick the sippy cup of milk in lieu of the bottle at night habit, kick the sippy cup of water at night in lieu of the sippy cup of milk in lieu of the bottle of milk at night, kick diapers during the day as well as kick diapers during the night! I guess we'll keep the soother for night time for a little while yet! I can't believe all Maeve has accomplished at just 2 years of age! What a girl!

Big thanks to Auntie Erin for the excellent dinosaur rolly ball toy! Ok, Auntie gave it to her for xmas and this is the first time we've taken it out of the box! We love it! It is so awesome! Maeve loves it more than Madigan

Feed me seymour!

Madigan does love to eat! We are trying to keep costs down by only feeding her when she is hungry! Ha ha, no seriously, sometimes Madigan likes to eat food and sometimes she needs only boobie milk! Fortunately for her I can't burn, over or undercook boobie milk! To date Madigan prefers sweet potato, is ok with squash but is forced to have prunes anytime we give her iron fortified cereal! Baby Mum mums are like water, both Maeve and Madigan love them! Short post and sorry for the double pic but Maeve kissing her sister is so cute!

Hows that bitches? YOu like tasty homemade bread? Whole wheat with flax seed? Well we do too! We will of course be lucky if this lasts us a week! For all of you with wheat allergies, we will apologize and we will eat this for you!

I'd like to introduce you to "ringmaster" Madigan! It looks like she has a crazy french moustache! Hello prunes! Thank alot iron fortified cereal! Nothing like iron and bananas to bung a system up!
Next photo is hockey gorgeous day in canada. Maeve tries on Mommy's hockey gloves and seems to like 'em!
Auntie and Maeve climb up a big steaming pile of woodchips. I'm a little concerned as to why they were steaming!
Last but certainly not least is, Maeve meets wild bunny at jericho beach! We are so lucky to have such gorgeous weather here. It sure is cold but when the skies are blue and the sun is sunny we can have lots of good fun, fun that is funny!

What a weekend!

Ok so the pictures sort of came out in a rambled jumble order but here goes. Maeve playing in a box was taken today. She decorated the outside and inside of the box. Fun was had, tipping the box over while inside was fun, then the tears came when Mommy caught her chewing the tip off the marker that she had been decorating with! The joys of wondering if colours taste as good as they look. FYI They don't! Second pic is at Makadoodlenut's 3rd birthday at jumpin' jiminy's! It was a blast. I so wouldn't have brought Maeve there on my own but once I pulled my head out of my butt and ran around sliding with the kids it was SOoOOoo much fun! Big thanks to Auntie Linds, Uncle Bro and Makenna for inviting us! Third pic is more boxing around. Last pic is Auntie Linds holding our gorgeous Madigan. Now, if you look really hard you can see that there is NO pink on the child! I have grown and therefore my second child wont always be dressed in solid pink! Auntie Sara picked this cute little dress up when we went to Bellingham! Today of course, Madigan is wearing head to toe pink! 6-12 month pink pants that are almost too small and an 18-24 month shirt that Maeve *just* grew out of. By my scale Madigan weighs in at a whopping 13.5 lbs and Maeve weighs 30.5. Maeve's might not be 100% accurate but I weighed myself without Madigan and then with her and the difference was 13.5lbs!
